Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Calcite is derived from the German Calcit, a term from the 19th century that came from the Latin word for lime, calx (genitive calcis) with the suffix "-ite" used to name minerals. It is thus etymologically related to chalk.

You must cleanse your Blue Calcite once in a while, it is not recommended to cleanse it with water or salted water, it can damage the stone.

The best is to cleanse it with Sage smudging, brown rice, or Selenite. One of the best and safest cleansing and recharging methods is to place your stone in a Selenite bowl.
